District Athletics

Welcome to the Normandy Athletics Department

  • Viking Pride is not just for the classroom. Normandy provides a variety of options for students to express their Viking Pride on the field and the court. Our athletics programs are open to students at the elementary, middle and high school levels. The following is a list of athletic programs available for students throughout the Collaborative:

Joseph Price joins Normandy Schools Collaborative as its new District Athletic Director. He oversees athletic programs at the elementary and middle school level.

 “Normandy has a legacy of successful athletic programs and we expect this legacy to continue under Coach Price,” said Marcus C. Robinson, Normandy Superintendent of Schools. “Coach Price has an       established network of coaches, supporters and a track record of success that will help be extremely beneficial to our student-athletes and the program overall.”

Coach Price joins NSC after most recently serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Central State University (Ohio) since 2014. Price has had a long career coaching at various institutions, including Ball State, Morehead State University, and Lamar University. As a player, Price experienced success at the high school, college and professional levels. He played collegiate basketball at the University of Notre Dame for legendary coach, “Digger” Phelps. 

Following his senior season at Notre Dame, Price was selected as an NBA 7th round draft pick with the Washington Bullets. He spent 13 seasons playing professionally overseas in various countries including   France, Italy, and Switzerland, where Price helped St. Prex win the 1988 Switzerland Second Division Championship. Coach Price was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.
