Normandy Partners with Local Police Departments on 'Brunch Patrol'

NORMANDY, Mo. -- In partnership with police departments in the 24:1 community, Normandy Schools Collaborative kicks off Brunch Patrol, a new initiative to help build relationships between students and law enforcement officers.

Normandy Schools Collaborative invites law enforcement officers within the 24:1 community to participate in Brunch Patrol by having breakfast and lunch with their students for free. Brunch Patrol will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m. at Normandy High School.

“Brunch Patrol is a great way to bring our students and law enforcement officers together in a comfortable, safe location for everyone,” said Steven Harmon, Normandy school safety & security coordinator. “We welcome area police departments to come have breakfast and lunch with our students, have conversations and build relationships with them. This will allow our students to get to know the police officers who patrol the areas where they live and play.”

This initiative was started by Normandy Schools Collaborative in an effort to help improve and encourage relationships between students and area law enforcement officers. These future relationships will benefit the entire community. Area law enforcement officers may attend breakfast and lunch at any Normandy Schools Collaborative school during their breakfast and lunch periods.
