Normandy Guidance Counselor Earns Doctorate Degree

Dr. Jacqueline Powell, a guidance counselor at Normandy High School, recently earned her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Maryville University. Powell has worked for the district for 22 years. She taught math at the high school for five years before shifting her focus to counseling. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in mathematics from Harris-Stowe State University, and two master’s degrees from the University of Missouri-St. Louis: one in school counseling and the other in secondary education with an emphasis in technology.
