Normandy Art Students Meet President Obama Portrait Artist
Art students at Normandy High School had an experience of a lifetime. While at the St. Louis Art Museum for a workshop with artist Robert Ketchens, the students were introduced to Kehinde Wiley, the artist commissioned to paint the official portrait of President Barack Obama. Wiley is the first African American to paint the official portrait of a U.S. president and currently has an exhibit at the art museum featuring residents of St. Louis and Ferguson. Pictured here with Wiley (second from right) are Normandy students Kayla Turner, Namaria Maufas, NHS art teacher Kelly Eggers, and student Regina Miller.
