Viking Quest/21st Century Afterschool Program
The Viking Quest/21st Century Afterschool program is free of charge and open to students in the Normandy Schools Collaborative.
This program is the result of a community partnership between the Normandy Schools Collaborative and community organization Better Family Life, designed to provide a safe haven for students while providing fun activities, educational support & enrichment opportunities.
The initiative, Viking Quest 21st Century Afterschool Program, is designed to provide a safe haven for students in the afterschool hours while addressing their educational enrichment and social needs. This free-of-charge program offers a full array of services based on the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) model.
The Normandy Viking Quest-21st Century program can accommodate a minimum of 285 students from the Collaborative’s five Elemiddle schools. Transportation home and a light meal are provided.
Activities include:
- Culinary & Fine Arts
- Physical Fitness/Athletics
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)
- Career Readiness
- Reading & English Language Arts
- Character Education
