Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Robin Vaulx-Williams, Principal
Robin Vaulx-Williams decided to be an educator because she believes she can make a difference in the lives of students. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. That was followed by master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Maryville University and Educational Administration from St. Louis University. She is currently completing an educational specialist in administration program at UMSL.
Early in her teaching career, Ms. Vaulx-Williams was given the opportunity to be a teacher leader, her first step into administration. Then she attended a principal leadership cohort at St. Louis University sponsored by urban districts and SLU to prepare new leaders. She was only the third person from Normandy at that time to be sponsored. While some think that all principals do is discipline and suspend students, Ms. Vaulx-Williams says the real work of a principal is supporting teaching and learning.
Ms. Vaulx-Williams believes the best part of her job is seeing students learn something they don’t already know and seeing their pride in their work. “It’s just that simple. I want students to know that education is the key to their life’s success.”
