Mrs. Netra Taylor-Nichols, Principal
Mrs. Taylor-Nichols is one of the Collaborative's most veteran administrators, having worked in Normandy for more than 20 years. Ms. Taylor-Nichols joined Normandy in 1994 as a fifth-grade teacher at the former Bel-Ridge Elementary School. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles. She began her current role as principal at Barack Obama Elementary in 2013. Mrs. Taylor-Nichols earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University, but later returned to school for certifications in Elementary Education and Reading. She earned her master's degrees in Education (curriculum and instruction, and elementary school administration and supervision) from National Louis University and University of Missouri-St. Louis (respectively). Mrs. Taylor-Nichols is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Character Education and Democratic School Governance, also from UMSL. Mrs. Taylor-Nichols is the recipient of the Iota Phi Lambda (IPL) Apple for the Teacher Award. She is a member of IPL and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
