Ms. Crystal Hunter, Director of ECE

Ms. Hunter will serve as the Director of Early Childhood Education, managing the Normandy Early Childhood and Kindergarten Centers. She comes to Normandy from Riverview Gardens, where she served as the Director of Parents as Teachers and Early Childhood.

Prior to her work in RGSD, she served as Process Supervisor Administrator with the St. Louis Public Schools Early Childhood Special Education area. She is a veteran educator with more than 15 years experience working with a variety of students including autism and behavioral issues. She also worked in Normandy as a self-contained classroom teacher with Special School District of St. Louis County.

Ms. Hunter earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in adaptive education/special education from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisc. She earned her master’s degree in Elementary Administration from Lindenwood University.

Mrs. Samohya Stallons

Mrs. Samohya Stallons serves as assistant principal of the Normandy Early Childhood Center. Stallons joined the Normandy Schools Collaborative in 2016 as a teacher at the Normandy Kindergarten Center. She previously served as a general education teacher in the Cape Girardeau Public Schools and Riverview Gardens School District. 

Stallons, a passionate educator and advocate for children, is committed to research-based strategies and systems that improve student learning and staff development. As a teacher, she has introduced PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) student training, a school-wide mentor program, school behavior celebrations, and implemented staff morale programs. Stallons prides herself on her ability to build rapport with students, families and staff.

A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Stallons earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently pursuing an Education Specialist degree, also from Southeast Missouri State University.
