Friends of Normandy Schools Foundation
The Friends of Normandy School District Foundation was formed in March of 2005 and is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose sole purpose is to solicit, manage and distribute funds for scholarships and to enrich the educational experiences of the children in the Normandy Schools Collaborative. The Foundation was modeled after the nationally acclaimed Carson Scholarship Foundation founded by the esteemed surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson. The Foundation is based upon the philosophy that public education can be endowed through a broad-based system of community support, thus providing another avenue for enhancing and augmenting educational opportunities for students and teachers in the Normandy Schools Collaborative. The Foundation is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. If you would like to serve on the board, please contact Carol McCauley, Board Secretary, at 314.853.3349 or via email.

Scholarship Program
The Normandy School District Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships based on merit. It recognizes students in grades four through 12 who:
- Attend at least 90 percent of each school year
- Demonstrate grade-level mastery of English Language Arts and Mathematics
- Participate in community service activities
- Have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher
- Score 21 or higher on the ACT (grades 11 and 12)
Each year, points are awarded to students who meet or exceed these criteria. Once they reach 12th grade, students are awarded scholarships based on the number of points they’ve accumulated since the 4th grade. Students may use the funds to support the post-secondary education of their choice, including college/university, technical school, military, etc. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $350,000 to deserving students districtwide.
Your Support Makes a Difference!
In recognition of academic excellence, the Foundation holds its annual Scholarship Gala, a black-tie affair. Every year, hundreds of family, alumni, staff, and community members support this critical scholarship fundraiser. Due to COVID, the gala was not held in 2020 and 2021.
Community support is critical to the Friends of Normandy’s ability to award scholarships. If you would like to support our students, please make a tax-deductible donation via cash, check, endowment, payroll deduction, PayPal, or online at www.normandysc.org.
