Dr. Charles Pearson, Superintendent of Schools for the Normandy Schools Collaborative, was among eight Missouri superintendents recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding performance as a new superintendent.
Pearson was nominated for the honor by his colleagues in the Greater St. Louis MASA District. He was honored during the awards banquet at the MASA Spring Conference on March 29.
The award is presented annually to superintendents who are in their second or third year of employment as superintendent and have made a measurable contribution to the school district which they serve.
Under Dr. Pearson’s leadership, the Collaborative has significantly increased the number of points earned on the state’s Annual Performance Report, reinstated academic programs like gifted education, Advanced Placement and dual enrollment/dual credit courses, and established vital partnerships with organizations like Wyman Center to provide critical wraparound services to help improve student academic achievement.
Congratulations Dr. Pearson and thank you for all you do for Normandy students, staff and community!
